In excess of 36,000 people have fled Sudan's Kordofan territory eastern part of Darfur since Saturday, according to the UN's immigration body.

The strategic central area connecting the country's Darfur regions and the Khartoum-Riverine region has in recent weeks become the newest conflict zone in the 24-month civil conflict between the Sudanese armed forces and the paramilitary group.

Substantial Evacuation Figures

An approximated 36,825 people escaped five areas in North Kordofan region between 26 October and 31 October, according to the International Organization for Migration.

The civilians, primarily walking, headed to Tawila, a town to the west of El Fasher that is currently sheltering in excess of 652,000 evacuated individuals.

Heightened Military Presence

Citizens of North Kordofan on Monday noted a substantial rise in both RSF and army presence across towns and villages throughout the state.

Both armed factions are contesting control of El Obeid, the North Kordofan provincial capital and a critical supply and command base that connects Darfur to Khartoum.

"Today, all our forces have gathered at the Bara front here," stated an RSF member in a recently distributed video statement.

Local Inhabitants Detail Security Concerns

A area citizen of Um Smeima, located west of El Obeid, reported that the quantity of RSF vehicles had grown considerably since the group's takeover of El Fasher.

"We discontinued traveling to our farms, fearing confrontations," the local explained.

Another civilian, who asked to remain unnamed for safety concerns, also reported that "there has been a significant rise in army vehicles and weapons west and south of El Obeid" over the past two weeks.

International Alarms and Calls

A senior UN official raised the alarm last week about "widespread abuses" and "race-driven revenge attacks" by RSF in Bara.

The representative alerted to patterns echoing those in Darfur, where RSF militants have been alleged to commit mass killings, sexual violence and abductions against certain racial groups.

The church leader on Sunday called for an prompt truce and the creation of aid passageways in Sudan, declaring that attacks on civilians and impediments to humanitarian aid "are creating unacceptable suffering."

Sudan's ambassador to Egypt on Sunday alleged RSF of perpetrating war crimes in El Fasher and stated that the Sudanese government would not discuss with the militia organization.

The diplomat further urged the international community to designate the group as a terrorist entity.
