The incident led to the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

Two individuals are now facing charges related to a suitcase robbery where a substance thought to be pepper spray resulted in harm at the major London air hub.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, now face two counts of robbery and two counts of administering a noxious substance, according to official statements.

This legal action stems from an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the assault occurred, two women were robbed of their luggage stolen after exiting a car park lift, police said.

A toddler was one of the people hurt during the incident. Several persons were taken to a medical facility and were eventually allowed to go home.

The incident – described by police as was a standalone event and deemed non-terroristic – caused disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area for a short time.
